One day after practice, my old coach suggested I listen to Joel Osteen. I gave him a look — I was really surprised because he wasn’t religious at all. I was dealing with an injury and was just in an overall negative headspace so he explained to me that Osteen’s message was incredibly positive and it might make me feel better. I was intrigued so I looked him up on Youtube. To this day, I still refer to the same video whenever I feel that negative internal dialogue creeping in. Through this homework, my coach was teaching me about self-efficacy:
To believe in my ability to perform all that is necessary to accomplish a goal.
The key difference between those who accomplish their goals and those who fail. If you believe you can do something with every ounce of your being, you are more likely to achieve it.
A person with high self-efficacy believes they can reach their goal so they take the steps required to make it happen. Work harder, ask questions, practice, practice, practice, get it wrong try again etcc… People with low self-efficacy don’t need others to tear them down because they do it themselves. They quickly lose confidence, avoid risk and challenges because, in their head, they won’t succeed.
The good news is that if you find yourself in low self-efficacy mode, you can easily turn that shit around.
Also, If you’re wondering why i’m randomly talking about Joel Osteen it’s because his name came up on this book i’m reading about why some ideas catch on and some others don’t and it reminded me of that story + some nostalgia below.
Today we’re talking:
NYFW and the LYST

The NYFW Schedule for September is out!
Off-White will be holding their first-ever show in NYC! “Now the time feels right to show up,” said Kamara: “It feels natural to grow and show where so much of the community around the brand is. I think it will be amazing and feel great for Off-White to show for the first time in the city.” Of New York, he added: “It’s common ground—a melting pot where everybody is equal.”
Ralph Lauren will show their collections in the leadup to NYFW, showing in East Hampton on Sept. 5 and Proenza Schouler will show Sept. 4.

The Lyst released their ranking of fashion’s hottest brands and products for Q2.
Loewe overtakes Miu Miu and Prada to reclaim the title of the hottest brand in the world (Q2 and according to the Lyst brand index)
Just this quarter, they sponsored the Met Gala, launched a new Paula’s Ibiza collection, and presented their menswear Spring/Summer 2025 show in Paris. Additionally, they released a Pride capsule collection and dressed celebrities like Zendaya, Ayo Edebiri, and Jonathan Bailey. They aligned the brand the much-anticipated release of the movie "Challengers," featuring costumes designed by Jonathan Anderson, which further elevated the brand’s profile. Select items from the movie are available for purchase through Loewe. I told ya It’s not just a T-shirt.
The On x Loewe Cloudtilt 2.0 sneakers was also a hot product this quarter and helped drive a 308% spike in searches for the brand following their release at the end of May.
Miu Miu 🩷 came in second in Q2.
This week, they released a campaign featuring Little Simz , Cara Delevingne, Charlotte Cardin, singer MINNIE and model Caitlin Soetendal.
Maiya The Don
On Saturday, I went to see Maiya The Don perform! The show was presented by Femme It Forward, and it was such an empowering environment. Thanks to all the Sexyy Red and Glorilla tracks the DJ played, I left with a boost of confidence and turnt up with my bitchess.
Maiya stole the show though. Her energy is INSANE— She is vibrant, confident and so at ease with herself. Her execution was flawless. She was genuinely happy to be there and proud of headlining her first show. At just 22, she is truly a star making her dreams come true.
She made the XXL Freshman Class of 2024, and you might know her from this hit.
Denzel Curry
On Friday, I saw Denzel Curry at the Corner of Orchard and Broome. I have a few favorite corners in NYC: ALD corner, Le Pere corner and Kiki’s corner. Denzel shut down the LE PERE CORNER promoting his new album; King of the Mischievous South Vol 2. I didn’t stay long because it was hella crowded and my girlfriends were at another corner but His new tape features the likes of Tia Corrine, A$AP Ferg, A$AP Rocky, 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla $ign, Juicy J, Ski Mask The Slump God and many more.
Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy
Random but I spent a lot of time admiring Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's style last week. Her minimalistic, office-friendly blend of masculine and feminine elements is stunning. It’s clear that her looks are a massive influence for brands like The Frankie Shop, Sporty & Rich etc.
Ending with some Industry Tea.
Madeline Argy is spilling all the tea on Central Cee and the cheating/PR rumors about him and Ice Spice.
Daisy Edgar Jones slayed her press tour for Twisster- She’s giving Anne Hathaway / Emily vibes so let’s see if they cast her for the Devil Wears Prada Part 2.
Togethxr has generated $3 million in revenue in the past seven months on its $45 “Everyone Watches Women’s Sports” T-shirt. Yes Ted!
Kamala Harris is now officially BRAT and Gen Z approved. “Kamala does such a good job at embodying what people call ‘Brat summer.’ The way she presents herself, she’s happy, laughing, she’ll dance” Her campaign account on X rebranded in slime green, and Charli XCX gave it the thumbs up.
Coco Gauff will be a flag bearer alongside LeBron James for Team USA. Gauff will be the youngest American to carry the flag in U.S. Olympic history.
Have you seen Glossier’s on-the-court partnership in action supporting the women’s USA Basketball team?
But before I go I am sharing a few things from my cameral roll - Hope you all have a great week / weekend <3.
typos are intentional x
Dare I say, best yet?
